Biography
Kirsten Dunst was born on April 30th 1982, in New Jersey. Her parents, Claus and Inez Dunst, got divorced and the actress and her brother Christian remained with their mum. She is not only a brilliant actress, but is also a model and singer. Kirsten first appeared on television at the age of three, when she was featured in commercials, and that was the beginning of her rise to stardom. She featured in a total of 70 TV commercials. As an actress, her debut was when she was eight years old when she appeared on Woody Allen’s ‘Oedipus Wreck’ in 1989. The following year she landed a small part in the movie ‘The Bonfires of the Vanities’ alongside Tom Hanks.
Her career further took off when her family relocated to Los Angeles in 1991. In 1994 she had a part in the movie ‘Interview with the Vampires: Vampire Chronicles’ in which she starred alongside Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Her performance in the movie earned an MTV award for best Breakthrough Performance. In 1995 she was named among 50 most beautiful people by People’s Magazine. Other movies she appeared in include Jumanji, The Virgin Suicides, Bring It On, Little Women, Wag the Dog and Get It Over. Her most important role however remains her part in the Spiderman blockbuster where she plays the part of Mary Jane Watson. When asked which actresses she looks up to, Kirsten said that she is inspired by Michele Pfeiffer, Drew Barrymore and Judy Foster.
In the year 2008, Kirsten was admitted at the Cirque Lodge treatment center which is located in Utah. There were rumors that she was being treated for drug and alcohol addiction but she claimed that she was treated for depression. Her singing career, on the other hand, is restricted to movies. She said that she preferred to utilize her singing talent only in movies, like she did on Get Over It.
Kirsten has been in romantic relationships with Jake Gyllenhaal, Johnny Borrel and Jeff Smeege. She has also been linked romantically with Fabrizio Morettii, Drew Barrymore’s ex boyfriend. She also went out with Jacob Soboroff, her co-star in Spiderman after they finished the movie but their relationship was short-lived.
One of Kirsten’s aspirations was to own and run her own production company. Her dream seems to have come true because she now owns a production company, Wooden Spoon Productions The choice of the production company’s name is meant to symbolize creativity in females. It is inspired by her childhood memories in which her grandmother used to beat her with a wooden spoon when she did something wrong. She is running Wooden Spoon Productions with the help of her mother, Inez.
