Between 2005 and 2008, Kirsten Dunst did one movie each year. After taking 2009 off, she did two movies in 2010. While there’s nothing wrong with this schedule, her fans want to see her on the big screen as often as possible. Because of this, any fan of Kirsten will be excited to know that she has four projects on her plate in 2011.

Dunst’s first 2011 movie is actually a short. However, unlike many shorts that are anywhere from five to fifteen minutes in length, this short is a full thirty minutes. The short is called Fight for Your Right Revisited. In it, Dunst plays a “metal chick.” In addition to Kirsten, this short has tons of additional star power from people like Danny McBride, Will Arnett, Adam Scott, Rashida Jones and Susan Sarandon.

Her next 2011 project is the movie Melancholia. Dunst fans will be happy to know that her character Justine is one of the leads in this movie. And unlike the short that is only thirty minutes in length, this film is over two hours long. Because this film was written and directed by the same man who did the controversial Antichrist, it should be a very compelling role for Dunst.

Dunst’s third role for this year is in the movie Upside Down. According to the current details of the movie, she will also be playing a lead character in this movie. With a budget of around $60 million, there’s no doubt that this one will get a very wide release.

While it has a significantly smaller budget, Dunst’s last 2011 project should be quite good. She will be playing Camille in the film version of Kerouac’s classic “On the Road.”
